Three weeks post op urinary tract infection!

Okay, I kept thinking this was from the bladder tact part of the surgery, but enough is enough! Pain standing up, pain starting and stopping peeing! I called my dr and he is treating me for a uti. He says I should feel remarkably better in 24 hrs. I kept thinking, if I hadn't had surgery, this sure would mimic a good ole uti, and it is. Moral of this story: call your doctor even if you feel silly doing it. Oooooowwwwww.

Hi yippe,
I'm glad you called and glad for the reminder for us all. If you are concerned about something call. That is what they are there for. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Three weeks post op urinary tract infection!

Rita,
Thank you. I had a real scare tonight. I started the medications for the uti and my heart started racing for an hour (151/min). Dh called dr on call and was getting ready to go to ER. I think I just got dehydrated- I took off some clothes and went outside to cool off. It came back to normal but I'm still a little skittish. That's what I get for taking medications that clearly say take with a lot of water and then going to bed in sweat pants and a turtleneck. I was asking for trouble.

Hi yipee,
That must have been frightening for you. I hope you are feeling better today. It's good to drink a lot of water with a uti too. It helps flush it out.
