TVH: Pre-Op Questions??

Hi all! I am scheduled for my visit to the castle on May 1st. I am going in this Friday (the 13th...seriously...) for my pre-op appointment and blood work. I will be meeting with the anesthesiologist as well. I haven't decided if I want to have the epidural or be out. Not sure I want to be awake for this...

I need to know what questions to ask! I will seriously be writing them down because I won't remember otherwise. I also have to let them know about my allergy to opiates (no codeine, morphine, demerol, all the good stuff...).

Please help! I am heading from the hospital right back to work. I am a tax professional and the office manager as well, so I have been busier than a 1 legged man at an a** kicking contest! In fact, the last day of work is the 30th of April for me, and I will likely be working til 10ish at night!

I just need to go in prepared!

Oh wow! Your coming up soon and definitely need answers. I just noticed nobody replied yet so thought I'd reply! I had my surgery 6 days ago so am still pretty tired and on pain meds. My heads not organized enough yet to type you all the answers you seek. There is a link called hints from members, I think it is in the post op section. If you can find that link there are many many threads from post op sisters with helpful things and ideas for you. Happy searching, and sorry I am not able to help more right now! Sorry I didn't see this in time for your appointment. I really didn't ask too many questions at my pre-op because they answered them all. My experience with this surgery was very positive - no huge surprises and healing as gone well. I guess the one question I would have is what can they do for pain. I didn't need pain meds for long but I appreciated them when I first woke up.

I am just seeing it. I hope you received all of the answers you were seeking. I know I have a surgery nurse that I call 3-4 times a week with questions. So call when you think of them. I am sure they will not get upset and so what if they do you are entitled to feel comfortable
