Swelly belly????

My hysterectomy is a week away and I keep seeing the term, "swelly belly" . What does that mean?

The article at https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/article_163685.htm should be useful. :-)

Re: Swelly belly????

Just wanted to say that my "swelly belly" started months before my hysterectomy, and is one of the reasons I had the hysterectomy. It's a different shape now (actually looks more pregnant now), but I'm looking forward to it going down!

Re: Swelly belly????

mtaig12 , I understand completely if this is about the puffy swollen abdomen . Ugh. Mine is already pretty "out there" too. I hope yours goes down soon!!! :-)
I wasn't sure if this term meant something other than that.
I can't wait for my jeans to fit better!

Thank you, SurprisedInNB , for the link . I was thinking that was what it meant, but I want to be ready for anything when I finally get post-op! :-)

Re: Swelly belly????

4 days post op TAH and mine is going down. I was pretty big to start though, and getting "the thing" out helped I am sure.

Re: Swelly belly????

mine comes and goes. It's not that bad... sometimes just an achy swelly belly after a good day
I've found that a heating pad helps me alot.
