I was just going to check in on you as I was wondering where you went! What a mess with your doctor and your diabetes; I know you were concerned prior to the surgery that they wouldn't handle it properly and it sounds like you were definitely right. I'm amazed they let you go the day after your surgery with a TAH! There was no way I could have done that. I had my first post-op a week after the surgery and they took my staples out but had to replace six of them with stitches due to the last six not closing due to scar tissue from the prior surgery. I go back tomorrow to have them checked again. My doctor has been WONDERFUL; he's called me at home several times, spent a lot of time with me during appointments, visited me every day I was in the hospital and did a fantastic job with the surgery. Every time I see him I just want to kiss him (and he's handsome too, which doesn't hurt)! I would definitely get the heck away from your doctor ASAP and like it was suggested here let them know exactly why - there's no excuse for that kind of treatment (or lack thereof)! I've also NEVER heard of a regular doctor not prescribing medicine for a UTI because the OB/GYN couldn't be reached; my regular doctor was who I saw after my first surgery when I developed a UTI as well (they said it was from the catheter). I'm so sorry you've had to deal with all these problems, please take care of yourself, drink lots of cranberry juice and water for that UTI, and I'll PM you later!
