Leg pain...is this normal??

I am on my 6th day post op and for srveral days I have been having throbbing, achy pains in my right leg. I had an ultrasound on it yesterday and thankfully there was no blood clot present. I am still nervous about it though because it is tingly off and on and very uncomfortable. Does anyone else have this problem after surgery? Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Leg pain...is this normal??

hi. actually i had the same problem. when i went for my post op visit(1 month after surgery) i mentioned to my gyn that i had a pain in my right thigh. I went for a sonogram and there was no clot. it took several months for the pain to stop, when i went back to work on Jan 3rd the pain got worse(i'm on my feet most of the day)
. the pain is gone now and i never found out what it was. i was so relieved it wasn't a clot that i just assumed it was a part of the healing process and pushed through it. i hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the reassurance. I am a kindergarten teacher so I am scared it will get worse when I go back as well. At least I know this might be kind of normal in the healing process. I hope mine goes away eventually like yours did. Thanks for the encouragement!

Re: Leg pain...is this normal??

no problem but remember if anything doesn't feel right to you call/see your doctor as many times as you need to to feel better.

Re: Leg pain...is this normal??

I've had it a lot throughout my recovery. Comes and goes. A lot less frequently now than at first, but it's unpleasant. I didn't go to the doctor for it as I just thought it's probably some kind of referred pain from the abdomen. I probably should have asked them when it first started but as nothing horrible has happened from it yet, I figure I was right, and it's just a weird pain

Mine comes and goes too. Sometimes it is worse than others. Very weired. I am so glad this is kind of common. I have been pretty worried that something abnormal happened to me after surgery, but I tend to worry a lot anyway...lol. Thanks for your reply. It was helpful.
