breast and nipple hurting 6 weeks post-op.

I had my hysterectomy on Sept 20. I kept one overy and everything went text book perfect. I was released to come back to work at 4 weeks. Yesterday my left nipple started hurting and this morning the top of my brest is really sore. It feels as if someone has cut it off. I have never had this happen. yes they have been tender durning my cycle, but nothing like this. Has anyone had the same problem???

Re: breast and nipple hurting 6 weeks post-op.

For some strange reason, at around 5-6 weeks, my nipples got really sore. I chocked it up to not wearing a bra for 6 weeks and my shirts just irritating them.

Now, this week, my boobs are very tender. This is the first time I've had breast tenderness in years. I was on BC pills. I figured its time for my cycle and my hormones are getting back to some type of normality since they've been suppressed for so long. I don't like it though. I've also been irritable.

Blah to PMS !

Hope you feel better soon. If it gets bothersome, call your doc. It wouldn't hurt to do a self breast exam either.

Re: breast and nipple hurting 6 weeks post-op.

This is a while guess but is something that happen to mean when i was pregnant the first time and now after surgery. When i was pregnant i complained of the same soreness atleast at the nipple not the entire breast .... but anywho the doctor told me maybe i was too dry and it was getting irritated easily. So after my surgery although i kept both my ovaries i had the same soreness and what i did was change soaps. I now use dove with extra moisture and it seems to work for me. But i think if your feeling pain all over you breast so much like if they cut it off i think you should report that to you surgeon/primary doctor. I figrued it worth a try given you something to test out while you see someone about the problem.... Good luck.
