Anyone Had Vaginal Cuff Cauterized?

How large was the place he cauterized, and how long after your procedure did you see the greyish brown discharge? I haven't had discharge. How sore were you after the procedure?

Are you asking me? I had the spotting brown discharge almost right afterwards. I don't know the size he cauterized, cause all the Dr said was that a stitch pulled lose and that was were the pool of blood ran out the night before. The next morning it wasn't bleeding nearly as badly, but figured I better go get it checked out. I have been spotting all along since my surgery and am still evens after this cauterization yesterday. For me, the procedure just was a burning stinging like feeling, nothing too uncomfortable. I just hope my stitches are healing in my cuff and I don't have to get a scare like this again. When that pool of blood came out, it actually colored my toilet water red, and that is a very scary feeling...not knowing what is going on now. I guess I was doing too much ?? Not sure why the stitch pulled lose and Dr couldn't say either. But the Dr did say I could see a brown discharge for a few days. So we will see if I continue to spot or if it will stop. I update my events frequently..

Thanks for the response, man. Was asking diamond wife, but that's perfectly fine, as I was trying to get an idea of how much pain to expect tonight after the procedure. I had a bowel movement about an hour ago and saw brownish grey discharge. Figured that was to be expected and am not too worried about it. She checked the cuff manually after the pelvic exam and there was no soreness which she said was good and meant it was healing well. I have to admit I got really scared during the exam when she said she saw a little blood and granulation, thinking it meant a hole in the incision. She quickly assured me there's no hole, but more a bump (2mm). I also asked when she thought I'd be ok for sex and she said anytime. After checking my cuff like she did she was confident that there would be no problem, even encouraged me to get back to it -though gently. Said to expect there to be some pain the first couple of times. I really trust her but am too nervous right now.

I guess it wasn't very large, but he didn't say. The discharge was very slight when I used the restroom after I got home and a little more today after exercising. Doc said it was related to the cauterized tissue sloughing off and leaving the body. It seems to have stopped for the moment. As far as "sore" I'd say not at all. I felt maybe a little crampy yesterday evening and for lack of a better way to describe it, maybe like a small sunburn inside. But all that is gone now and I feel better than I did before my appt yesterday.

Thanks for the reply. Encouraging that you exercised today after having it done yesterday. Thinking I've read one to many horror stories regarding the vaginal cuff.
