burning and swelling down there??

I had a LSH 1 week ago today. Everything in vagi land has been fine until I woke up this morning. It burns a little, kinda feels like it does after you have sex dry... so I grabbed a mirror and took a look and she's a little swollen. No redness, no weird odor/discharge. Just the burning, swelling and some pressure. Normal? I haven't done anything except washed her in the shower....

Re: burning and swelling down there??

Maybe a yeast infection? or it could be that you are low on estrogen. Are you on an HRT?

It doesn't feel like a yeast infection, in fact it seems to have subsided except for the pressure. I did walk more than I have been last night, my mom thinks maybe I walked too far. The pressure feels like it's on my rectum area as well. I remember I had that in the hospital and the nurse said it was normal. but it went away there and today is the first day I'm feeling it again. Another thing I thought of is this is the first day I'm not taking my pain meds, just ibuprofen. Maybe I'm just feeling everything the codeine was masking?

Oh and yes, I'm on Climara 0.05 patch...

Re: burning and swelling down there??

I'm having both the same issues...I think the catheter and the vaginal packing I had for the repairs I had done probably irritated the area...also narcotics and such can be very drying. I've had a history of problems in "the area" and have learned not to treat a yeast infection till I go to a doctor and confirm its there.

Re: burning and swelling down there??

I agree with the idea of checking with your doc re: yeast infection. In the meantime, some of the discomfort can be soothed by bathing with a salt water solution. Use a laundry bowl with warm water and a handful of salt and just sponge the solution onto your sore area. Or you can put the salt solution into a squirty bottle. This is what my doc recommends for treating vaginal thrush, while waiting for the treatments to work.

And remember to use really gentle shower gels. Plain Sorbelene cream is fine. No scents or fragrances. Hope you get better soon.
