Anyone else having spasms?

I'm 7 weeks post op and since week three/four started getting abdominal contractions/spasms. I wake up and my abdo muscles are tightening and they just keep on going! I can't relax or stop them.

Called physio a couple of weeks ago. She said its because my muscles aren't getting the memo from my brain to relax because my nerves haven't healed yet.

But the better I get the worse they get and this morning I have a pain in my right side from it. I do move a lot in the night. Always have and don't know how I'd stop it.

Anyone else get this or know what it is?

I don't get it any other time of day. Just very early morning. Thanks.

I had that too. Mine were really bad week one post op. they are much better now but every now and then I will get them. I had major pain on my right lower side almost 2 weeks post op but it has gotten better. Doctor said something about nerve endings trying to heal. I'm so glad I don't have that pain anymore. I had this as well.. drinking more water will help. I would have to get up and drink more in the night. You pee more but it really kept those spasms at bay. Best of luck!

OOh thanks for that tip. I know I'm not drinking enough water for sure, but it's very cold at the mo. I hope clear herb tea will do the same thing.

I'm dealing with constipation and just posted that I'm hAving stomach spasms. It's almost like very mild contractions. This is the first time I got them and I'm almost 4 weeks post op

That sounds about right. I'm going to drink more clear liquids for a few days and see if that helps.
