1st week great...2nd week not so good
It's been 2 weeks since my surgery. I had LATVH (i hope i got that right). My surgery was Nov 18th, by Thanksgiving I was feeling great. But now this second week has not been as good. I have dull pains that remind me of times just before my period. My car is a manual with a tight clutch, I was driving after 8 days. Maybe not a good idea, pains on my left side where I would think my ovary would have been. I am hoping that I haven't done any damage, I am taking it slower now.
Does anyone else have these dull pinching feelings? I don't think they are bad enough to go to the doctor. What does someone with more time invested experience say about it.

Sounds like what you're feeling is par for the course. And we all seemed to do too much our second week, because we felt good. Time to take it easy. All the twinges, pains, pulling, etc, are normal.

I second what Sam says. By week 2 all the meds from surgery have gone from your body and you are only working on what you've been given for home to take orally. Please stay ahead of the discomfort and or pain. If your body is trying to cope with even some discomfort it will not heal properly. You will for about the next couple of months learn that very little is actually way too much and you will need to really listen to your body. If its telling you to relax, you need to. You ony have one chance to heal right. Good luck and take it easy.

Re: 1st week great...2nd week not so good
I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and feel like I've been hit by a Mack truck. The week of Thanksgiving was good... even got out of the house 2 days in a row. But you know what say... 2 steps forward, 3 steps backward. That would be me this week. Energy level is nearly non existent, and pain has increased. I still have to take at least one 5mg Oxy a day just to get through the day. I can barely walk without pain.
Just know that you are not alone and we all have to take care of ourselves. This is a journey, not a race. And all of us heal at different rates because we've all had different types of surgeries. Some more extensive than others. Patience... something I'm trying so hard to learn. Hang in there... we're all here to support each other, and what a wonderful thing this place is!

Yep! I have had the same symptoms...my doc told me yesterday it is part of the healing process. He said it takes 2 months not 2 weeks to heal :-0!...so take it easy sis....get you some naps in, drink plenty of water.

Re: 1st week great...2nd week not so good
Hi, I feel exactly the same way! My incision is much sorer. The problem is all the needy people in my life that saw how great I felt last week and expect me to be "better this week." Somebody actually asked what I was making for dinner tonight! Anyhow, I wasn't really expecting to feel so exhausted and in pain so I am relieved that this seems to be normal! Tomorrow is a new day!!

Re: 1st week great...2nd week not so good
Glad to hear I'm not the only one! I went back to work part time (in my office) after 12 days because I was feeling great energy, only dull pain, etc. but....with in a few days I felt like I had been working double time! I'm doing good with not lifting or moving anything heavy. Seems I do best if I work a little then rest a little. Weekend was nice to relax, my kids still need reminders that I'm healing! Working this week but going to try to plan in more rests. Only have one chance to heal right!?!
