Hello All, Well i made it through surgery and am home after a 2 day Castle Stay. The surgery had no complications which i feel is a real plus!!. DR had intended for me to keep both of my ovaries however had to remove the left during surgery due to cysts. Recovery is going as planned. ( I guess).. Taking short little walks down the sidewalk 3-4 times a day and drinking tons of water. ( I feel like floating). The pain in my belly is not at all what i expected, normally only have a small amount of pain at the incision site but i've been able to manage that with Vacadin once about every 12 hours. I think the worst of this all is the getting up from the laying position, especially every 30 minutes when i have to empty my bladder(ouch). Overall I think the end result is going to be worth it. I just need to get through the first couple of weeks which are going to be the roughest. Hope everyone that had surgery June 19 is doing well as well.. Take care to all..

Getting out of bed was one of the most painful parts for me also. I had complained to a friend about this and she suggested I put a chair next to the bed to pull up on. Oh my gosh. It was a Godsend and so easy. Why didnt I think of it? Anyway, I kept a wood kitchen chair next to the bed for about 3 weeks. You can grab the back of it and pull yourself up real easy. I also have a waterbed which made getting up even a little harder. Plus you have a handy seat for visitors!! Good luck to you and remember to take things slow.
