Best Advice
Hello Ladies in Waiting!
Now that it's all over, I feel lke I must tell you the best advice that I received from this site.
1. I stayed on a liquid diet, Juices and soups the night before surgery. This saves you from all that gas talked about after surgery.
2. Go to any Earthsavers, and get one of those Backout eye masks. During my stay in the hospital, They come around every 4 hours for those vitals. I blocked them all out, and they had the light on the whole time.
3. Bring your own pillow and blanket to the hospital.....I hate those hard pillows! I had my great grandmothers quilt.
4. Get your bedroom straight for all those visitors after surgery.
I vaccumed every inch of my bedroom just before surgery, my husband thought I was nuts. This is where you should spend most of your time recouperating.
5. Rent 1 of those rolly bed tables....This was a lifesaver for the phone, remote, meals, books, etc.
6. Borrow as many VHS tapes from friends and neighbors as you can get. But, do make a list of your temporary library, so you may return them.
7. Buy some thankyou notes before the surgery, and send them out while recouperating.
8. Do drink plenty of water.... it flushes out all that anestisia and helps get those lazy bowels working again.
9. Remember to say THANKS to your caregiver, they feel so needed.
