Hi juliebooly,

I just saw your post today and wanted to comment. It is interesting to note the differences in recoveries. While some are up and feeling great while still in the hospital others are not so fortunate. Part of this picture is your age and physical condition prior to surgery and what all you have done. If you have repairs done along with your hyst it is probably going to prolong your recovery.
I would say for anyone looking to have this surgery they need to be open to the fact that it can take this 6 to 12 months to really heal.
I am 6 months out and still feel the affects of my surgery. I feel so much better than before my surgery and know that I will one day be completely healed, but for now, I am careful what I lift or try to move. I even am cautious on major grocery shopping days because I know that by the time I buy it, load it, carry it in the house and put it away I will hurt.
Just listen to your own bodies because they will tell you when you are ready for each new activity. I wish you all good healing.

s, Rita

Dear Juliebooly,
I just wanted to tell you that I, too, felt pretty achy at 10 wks and was wondering when will I feel better? I'm 58 and a naturally slow healer so guess I should have expected that. (Had an LAVH and bladder problems but feeling much better).
Anyway...I'm at 12 wks. now and feel really great. Seemed to just "jump" to a new level of healing the past wk. So....just when things seemed at a standstill, the body let me know that it was recovering.
Thanks to precious pearl for her info. I guess we need to expect to take it easy for some time now.
I hope that you are feeling less "achy" today and are enjoying the weekend.

Silversis, I'm so glad to read your post. I'm happy to hear that you're at 12 weeks and just the past week took a great step forward in your healing. I'm almost 11 weeks out and getting very discouraged. I've always been in good shape and assumed that I would only need a few weeks after the hyst to start feeling great again, but it was not to be. I've always been a fast healer but am healing very slowly from the surgery.

And I will admit it.......I am discouraged. I'm still swollen. Some days I feel great, the next day I feel swollen and miserable. I keep worrying that I have a bladder prolapse, but I really think that I'm just so swollen that it makes it feel like there's something there.

Juliebooly, I'm with you, girl. I'm tender and achy and getting just plain fed up. I'm not asking to be able to run marathons. I just want some semblance of normality again.
