Need your words of experience... (Endo & PCOS)

Hi Ladies here a quick summary on me and scenario but more importantly my latest development.

I am 33 yrs old have no biological children, but am married w/ 2 great step kids. I have been fighting endo, fibroids, cysts, pollups, PCOS etc since I started my period. (15+ years.) I hurt all the time, bleed/spot all but 5 days a month (the 5 after my period.) Oh yeah and the heavy periods, that I bleed through my clothes as an adult (UGH) and at night in bed. If I could just own one mattress pad that wasn't/didn't stain. The most recent was 18 hours of extreme pain that I ended up in the ER. Fibroids growing 3x the size in 30 days. That's it, I have had it, their outta here!!!

1. Ok, so here are my questions. I have met with 3 Dr's and have 1 more scheduled. I feel like I keep hearding the same things and I am just going to run myself in circles in finding the "right" one. When do I know to stop? ? ? ? ?

2. At my age, my goal is to save my ovaries or at least one if
possible. However what feedback do you have about the cervix? My gut says I need this for sexual satisfaction. (My husband and I are newly weds and I love our sex life... as much as it hurts and as the pain discourages me, I don't want to miss this drive I have.) What decision did you make....knowing what you know now would you have made any decision differently? ? ?

Right now I am trusting my gut which is to go for a LSH.

Newest development: Yesterday I came home from work dying to pee.... and continued w/ this urgency for 3 hours straight, my butt hurt!! from sitting on the toilet seat. So I finally bucked up and took myself to urgent care as I had all of the other symptoms of a bladder or UTI. Got med's, filled at the pharmacy and then came home to proceed to pee all night!!! Started med's about 10:30 pm and didn't get off the toilet from peeing only until 5:40am.... Ladies, I was trying to sleep in the bathtub and even my shower floor using towels for warmth and as pillows, so I could let myself pee as needed. HELLO!? I am a grown woman. But what is different is the fact that I have blood and clot tissue in my urine and when I wipe. The urgent care didn't seem to have any concern. I am feeling better but when I pee (only every 30 min's now), after I empty my bladder I feel like a golf balls drops down and "clogs" the track.

I feel like I am losing my mind.

So ready for surgury but scared to make the right decision while maintaining or increasinsing the "sex goddess" within me - first of all want to stop my need to pee! Is this in anyway related to fibroids growings 3x in 30 days? And my growing urinary incontince in the past 15 years? I can't sneeze, laugh or cought without leaking and remember I have never had children.

Thanks for reading this long one....

You are not alone. I had the exact same problems before my TAH. I wnet from not being able to pee to the incontinence. The fibroid went from blocking my ureter line to sitting on my bladder. Trust me, it was bad. If I leaned over to pick up something my bladder would leak. All of this is gone after my surgery.

From my experience you do not need your cervix for sexual satisfaction. I did keep my ovaries for the hormones and I would suggest keeping them if you can. But my husband and I have had intercourse since my TAH and it is just as wonderful and the orgasms are just as great and I am just as lubricated!!!

I personally have not noticed my cervix is even missing and my DH says he can't tell the difference either.

Good luck

Need your words of experience... (Endo & PCOS)

Hello. There are different reasons to remove the cervix. I have had problems with recurring cervical dysplasia (HPV). For me, removing my cervix is necessary for my health.

I looked for a doctor until I found one that I felt comfortable with. She answers my questions and explains things very well. Then I went to my General Physician, gave him my test results, discussed my situation with him. He agreed with my GYN and that was enough to make me feel good about my decision.

My fibroids are not in position where they cause the symptoms that you describe with your UTI. But, it doesn't sound like fun. I hope you feel better very soon. Make sure you tell your regular doctor what is going on.

Take care.

CSM....

Definatly see as many DR's as you need until you feel comfortable, and at peace with your/there decision. I had a TAH almost 6 weeks ago. REmoved the cervix, uterus and kept ovaries because of my age. Were you checked for kidney stones???? This could POSSIBLY be the reason for your urinary problem.. I have had them really bad. I had one lodged in the tube connecting bladder to kidney that caused an infection, that went into my blood stream... If you were not checked for them, I would ask to be checked!! As far as the SEX thing... I have not been cleared yet for sex, but had some outer-course that was FANTASTIC!!!!! Orgasm was UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! I was also scared about sex after removal of my cervix, but I am thinking that it will not be an issue.. If it is I am sure I will adjust.. but as far as the outer-course goes, it was better than before!!! I hope all goes well for you and please read as many posts as you can as this site is amazing and informative.. Please keep us posted on how you are going with your decision. Blessings to you..

Hello!
I can't give really say anything about the pee thing other than I hope it sorts out soon!

As for the sex thing, I had my cervix removed and my orgasms are more intense than they have ever been, so the cervix can't be part of the party! But you do have to go with your gut feeling... and with that make a decision that's good for your health too! Not an easy thing to do

Anyway, whatever decision you make, I hope you get some relief soon!

I just wanted to chip in with my
I was told one reason to keep the cervix (if there were no medical problems with it) that it is a means of supporting the vagina. There are ways to support the area when the cervix is removed but if you don't have to maybe you should consider taking them out. I was able to keep mine but also chose to have the ovaries removed as a precaution. Of course I am 51 and was going through menopause before so for me it was just speeding up the change process.

any way good luck.

I am the same age as you and kept my cervix. Every thing else is gone. I wanted my ovaries out of me! I only have one left due to a long history of cysts, and the remaining one had them at surgery time.

I am on HRT and I am finding that orgasms are easier and they are not weaker or anything.

I feel great, I feel better than I have in YEARS!

((CSM)))

PCOS and Endo are going to make your decision about keeping or not keeping ovaries more difficult. I did not keep my cervix and I never missed it. In fact, once it came out and I read the pathology report and saw some cell changes had occurred, I was so relieved it was gone! But, that was me. I had endo and adeno. I kept ovaries at time of TAH. I wound up having a BSO later.

At this point in my life, I am not missing either my ovaries or my cervix. Sex life is wonderful. No problem with orgasms. Lubrication is the same.

I hope for a great outcome for you, whatever you decide. I think you are wise to get several opinions to help you with YOUR decision!!

Take care! Best wishes.

I have pcos, but the deal with endo at the moment is unconfermed (will not 100% after they take everything out)

I've have it all out, and good riddance to it all - more trouble then its ever been wroth to me, that I can tell you (wish i would have had it all out sooner when i was younger and had less health complciations [am 30 now])
