Having a Pity Party

Having a bad morning. I'm 2 weeks and change post op and feel as if recovery has stalled. I know I'm just being impatient and this is a long recovery but I was so optimistic the first 2 weeks as I was feeling great.
DH and I tried some outercourse a few days ago (with drs. blessing) and it went 'ok' but felt a little flat (nerves?). Later that day I had some light spotting and was wiped out with fatigue, so we won't be trying that again for a while. Worried and anxious to know if everything is going to work in that department.
Bladder still doesn't feel quite normal. Fibroid was beating it up for a while and I had a cath for 3 days post op so I have been attributing it to that. Frequency and tingling are still persistent though and am now worried about a UTI. Peed 5 times this morning already and am feeling slightly nauseous. Have an email out to my doc but won't hear anything until tomorrow.
Feeling frustrated and discouraged and just want to cry. Thanks for letting me vent. I know tomorrow will be better.

Re: Having a Pity Party

Are you drinking cranberry juice? I started right away and do feel l like it's helped get my bladder back to normal quickly.

It's slow going isn't it. I'm almost 3 weeks out and had a sling. Peeing isn't exactly right yet but so much better than at first. At first I didn't feel much of anything and just "let it go". Now I'm having more control. It still feels funny. At first I went like every 2 hours. Now I can almost make it all nite. Give it more time.

Yes, I'm on my third bottle although DH has been helping to drink it. Trying to push it more but it makes my stomach acidy.
Thanks for listening ladies. I know many others are having a worse time of it and I should feel fortunate. Just having a hard time putting on my brave face today.

You should have posted this yesterday and we could have had this pity party together lol. I am just getting over a bladder infection and yeast infection. Then this weekend DH and i tried some outercourse (docs approval) and i well had trouble with it. The anxiety of wanting to make sure everything is in working order did not help. And DH works out of town so will be next weekend before we could try again had me feeling like a failure for having to wait another week to see how things are working. It just kind of felt like more pressure than pleasure! It was a rough day yesterday and i went to bed feeling very low. This morning was a better morning though. The ups and downs right now are not fun!! Pls know you are not alone in this. None of our situations are exactly the same but there are enough of us here going through things that are very similar and we will all get through it together!! Vent anytime you need!!

Thanks Suzy. Glad you are feeling better. I don't have a sling but my bladder was definitly put through the ringer. Was very happy when the cath came out and I felt I could empty all the way for the first time in months! Bummed things seem to be back sliding.
