Progesterone to stop bleeding until surgery??

Gyn 1 in my small town diagonosed my fibroid and prescribed the progesterone. He also refered me to Gyn 2 in a larger city 3.5 hours away. I have met gyn 2 once (she will do my surgery) and she noted that I was on the progestrone but didn't comment on duration. At this point I am under the care of my family Dr. and he said to stop so I have stopped. I am just very scared of starting to bleed as my hemoglobin is boarderline to be able to have surgery on April 4. Thanks to all who replied. I will let you know how it goes.
