They told me not to smoke after midnight before the surgery. As for HRT and smoking, you shouldn't I take Premin 0.65 and smoke. I am trying to quit, my doctor knows I smoke and suggest that I don't (like all doctors). I have quit several times I wish I could quit. No lectures from me.

Hi

You don't say why you are having your remaining ovary removed. If it is healthy and you can keep it, that would be the best thing.

If keeping that ovary isn't an option, I know there are women who use hormone therapy and also smoke. It's not the best idea, but it is done.

Best wishes for your surgery!

I also smoke. My doctor know this but has never said anything about it. I started off on Climera, then he changed me to the Vivelle dots. It probably isn't good, but he didn't say DO NOT smoke with HRT. He DID tell me he would not put me on the pill prior to my surgury because I smoke.

I asked my doctor the same question. He took me off birth control pills when I turned 35 because I'm a smoker. He told me that if I wanted to stay on the pill and smoke that I would have to find a new doctor.
He did tell me that the hormones that I will be on are different from the pill and do not have the same risks. I will start off on Climara.
But, he has suggested that I quit for my overall health.

I was told not to smoke after midnite the night before. When I had my lap back in Feb I smoked half a cig on the way to the hospital.....mainly due to nerves since I had never had any kind of surgery before. It didn't hurt anything, but I'm not sure if I'll smoke before this surgery or not. Maybe I'll try to be a good girl, but I know I will be much more nervous this time around.

I sure do wish I could quit!!!
