New and Confused (a little)

I'm scheduled for a davinci surgery on 9/4. I had a fibroid removed in Dec. '05 - and they of course came back with a vengeance. I'm just wondering if people have had the same issues I have - fatigue, nausea, bloated. My gyno said my uterus is the size of a 3 mo. pregnant woman, and I really feel it! I feel also like a big loser sometimes because I feel ill and am tired so much - it truly is no fun and I wonder can a uterus cause this many issues? But my big question is - will I be trading one bad thing for another? I mean, after surgery - will I feel like a new person or will it give me different issues? That's what scares me. I am keeping cervix and ovaries. Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

I know what you mean. We are sick and tired of being sick and tired.
My surgery date has not yet been set. I still have more tests to find out how extensive it will be, but fatigue is a big thing with me. I can make plans of how much I am going to accomplish and . . . too tired to accomplish anything!!!
My advises me that I will be a new woman after the surgery, so I am taking that theory and running with it. The chances are better for a good result than a bad.
I know that more experienced people will be coming soon to answer your question, but I wanted you to know that you are not alone and you have found a great place for support.

Re: New and Confused (a little)

Thank you for replying!! I feel so alone sometimes, thinking I'm the only one who feels this way - sick and tired -- and my friends/family/co-workers can't understand (except the few who have been in this same position). It's nice to know others are feeling the same -- but not that it's nice they are feeling it. ha

Re: New and Confused (a little)

I am doing really well. I just started to work out with our new Wii Fit. I need to loose about 50 pounds. I am taking it very slow just to be extra careful. I had an uneventful recovery (that's the best way to put it). It seemed slow but I am not in any more pain. My bladder & ovaries are all back to normal. I still get gas & gas pains more than I did before the surgery but it is nothing bad. It is so nice not having to worry about bleeding. My cloths & mattress are thankful. So I would say I am doing great. Everything looks fine from here.

Re: New and Confused (a little)

Awesome! That gives me hope. I need to lose about 60-70 lbs. once this is all done. I am glad you are doing well and I truly appreciate your comments. You've given me hope.

Re: New and Confused (a little)

I found this site after my surgery & I promised myself that I would make sure to come back every few days just to make sure women know that it can turn out just fine. I got so much support here while recovering. A lot of the people who come here have problems so I wanted to make sure I could give back with someone who didn't have big problems. I am glad I could give you hope. It can turn out fine. I am really enjoying the Wii Fit. I do not like to work out at all but the games makes it kinda fun. I know you can do it too! I does feel nice to be doing well.

Re: New and Confused (a little)

I know some of what you feel, I to have my life on hold, At Least thats what I feel like. I have cramps all the time, My husband and kids go and do fun things yet I say home because I am so tiered and in pain I dont want to go any place. I do not have a surgery date yet but I am hopeful. I was just hoping that knowing someone else feels some of the same thing might help you a little! good luck with your surgery!

Re: New and Confused (a little)

I feel like this entire summer's been just a waiting game for me - counting down to surgery. I thought I would get it done in mid-July, but the dr. was too booked and the robot has to be booked as well, so I don't go until Sept. 4th. It really makes me live day to day -- I never know how I will feel each day. I guess that kind of makes me appreciate each day. I hope you see a dr. soon and find out if you can get surgery. It's just no fun being miserable!! Thanks for responding. Take care.
