Post Op BM/ Bladder Spasms

Oct 11, 2011 Surgery
Laparoscopic Burch, Utrosacral suspension, Hysterectomy with both ovaries removed.
I opted for the Burch procedure (bladder neck lift suspension) instead of the mesh sling)
This is usually done abdominally with handful of Docs doing it laproscopicaly. My Doc is trained in Robotic & Lap amd decoded to try the Burch using Lap technique. His first time to do the Burch lapro .He pretty much does all sling technique with mesh tape. Fixed a rectocele with a few stitches as well and did some vaginal repair not able to access by apro.

The two – two ˝ hour op took five hrs +
Have a little puka (hole) in bladder he had to put a stitch or two in.
Blood pressure dropped so kept putting IV fluid into keep it up. Doc says the best way to keep BP up is to hydrate

Op on tue . discharged on Thur sftn. Saw Doc on Fri - gained 12 pounds between the operation on Tue and seeing him on Fri – all fluid.
Saw him again the following Mon, 6 days aft op and back to normal weight 118. Of course still have swelly belly.

Has me on two strong antibiotics cipro & flagel
Have had putrid odor from vagina but bleeding almost non existent

Found microscopic blood in urine must go tomorrow for retrograde cystogram.
Hopefull can get catheter out tomorrow.

Question anyone feel cramping in vagina and rectum after surgery? Have had good BM’s since about the fourth day aft Tue surgery

Do not have diarrhea but have constant pressure on rectum and have to go to toilet several times a day from morning to aftn. Usually one good BM and then just little tiny dropslets about the size of a finger or two. Almost like an overactive Bowel
Sorry to be so explicit but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Feel free to sk me any questions
