New here!

G'Day from , my husband told me about this site, I'm so glad I took the time to check it out and join. I'm scheduled for a TVH on 30 January, with the possibility of it becoming a TAH if the first becomes a problem? I'm sort of looking forward to being pain free, but the other part of me is really sad about losing a part of me, hope that makes sense? My gynae is going to implant HRT at the same time, which I'm not sure about after reading that perhaps it's not required if I'm left with my ovaries, which all going well I will be. I'd really like to hear from anyone who can help ease these fears.

Cheers!

PS Eveyone sounds so lovely from what I've read here!! Thanks for being there!

G'day mate

Welcome you have definetly come to the right place for info, support and understanding! I was suppose to be a tvh/bso but ended up with tah/bso, but that is o.k. as recovery is a breeze compared to pre op discomfort. Many ladies here scheduled for tvh have had successful ones so don't fret. I have felt great since I came home from the castle, and at 2 days short of 5 weeks am returning to almost all pre op activities, slowed down version that is My advice to you is keep reading and reading and it will help you prepare for the big day. Also stop in chat and talk awhile as the ladies there a great source of info and support. As for the emotional side of surgery I never really looked at it as losing a good part of me, just losing a part that had stopped me from being all that I could be! As for the hormone questions pop over to the hormone jungle and post there, the ladies over there have lots of good info to share. Good luck and keep us posted as to your recovery.

Welcome. Our prayers are with you We are all willing to give and receive all the support that we can. As you see, it really helps. I don't know what problem has caused you to need a hyst but I think in short time you will be feeling much better, and the loss you feel will dim with your renewed physical health.
