Numbness in thigh

Hi
I had a TVH on the 25th Aug and 2 days post opp I noticed a numbness in my right thigh just above my knee towards the outside of my thigh. I told the hospital staff who then got a Dr to have a look and they observed with lots of tests etc for 24hours. The gyno told me that sometimes the stirrups can cause nerve damage that may take a while to get better.
So my question is: has anyone else experienced this? and if so how long did it last?

I'm sorry you're experiencing this but you're not alone and I hope others will be along very soon to share.

Thigh and abdominal numbness are not uncommon since many nerves can be damaged during a hysterectomy procedure. You'll find a more detailed explanation in our HS article <link> Abdominal or thigh numbness following hysterectomy?

I hope you find it gradually improves but, if you're at all concerned, then please don't hesitate to contact your doctor.

Sending all good wishes as you continue to heal!
