Cramping

Good morning all, my name is Melissa and I am new to this site. I had my complete hysto in November 09. I have had some cramping off and on the last couple of months but yesterday my cramping was just like I was on my period. And I feel like something is going up under my ribs (kind of like when you are pregnant and the baby pushes up under your ribs) and it doesn't matter if I'm standing or sitting. Does anyone have advice for this.

Thanks Mel

Re: Cramping

You really need to go back and see your doctor if you feel something under your ribs. He or she should be able to explore what is going on. I had my surgery a couple of weeks before you and don't have any symptoms similar to yours. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Cramping

What side is the cramping coming? If it's on the right hand side up under your ribs it could be your gallbladder. It can cause really bad pain and awful cramping lower down. I would get checked out.

Re: Cramping

Hi Melissa,
I had my hyst about a month b-4 you did in '09. I had cramps for a yr after my hyst as well as huge bloating that went under my ribs on my left side. Went in for a hernia repair and at the same time the gyno went in "to look around" because of all of my issues and he found adhesions all over the place. I still had the cramping for a few months after the second surgery but has gotten better. NOw the bloating all the way up to my ribs is back. Had a cat scan 2 weeks ago and now I go to the gastro doc in 2 weeks. I am not saying you have adhesions but that is the case with me. Definately call your doc and please keep us posted.
