Nervous: surgery 9/6

Today is the day! I can't stop shaking! I'm praying for a successful surgery! I appreciate all of the great information I received her. The doc scheduled this is outpatient, I'm really not comfortable coming home the same day. I will talk with her about this today, thanks again for the well wishes and prayers!

Re: Nervous

Hugs!!! Everything will be fine. Yes, if you aren't comfortable coming home today, by all means speak to your doc before surgery. But you never know, you may want to be at home in your own bed as soon as possible. Can't wait to see you on the other side. You will be great, this will be great.

Re: Nervous

Mine was considered out patient as well. I had a noon surgery, was in recovery by 230, in my room in the post op observation area by 3 and discharged to go home by 10 am the next morning. In the hospital where I was, anything 23 hours and under is considered out patient. The 23 hours started once in the overnight observation room. Maybe your's has a similar policy. That being said....be sure you feel comfortable going home before they send you on your way! Be your own advocate and speak up if you want to stay longer. Good Luck!

Re: Nervous

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm here in the waiting room and I can't stop shaking or crying. Not sure why I'm so emotional or nervous. My hubby couldn't be here because he is in Korea right now, my son is here with me. Here I go!

Re: Nervous

When my GYN/ONC saw me pre-op in my little room and saw how emotional I was she ordered that I be given something immediately, and I was. I vaguely remember the ride to the OR, shifting over to the table, or anything else.

Re: Nervous

Saying prayers for you! It is completely understandable to be nervous. My surgery isn't until next Wednesday (also outpatient) but I only got an hour of sleep last night because my brain wouldn't shut off. I'm hoping you're out of surgery by now and doing well. Hugs!

Re: Nervous

Hi Ladies! Been home since 12pm. I checked in at 10am yesterday and they took me back around 1130am. They had me laying on a stretcher in the hallway for about 30 min. I remember going in the room and a mask but nothing else after that. I do not remember being in recovery, only getting to my room. I don't have that much pain, just light cramps. They had a bag of fluids going through IV and that had me up to the bathroom every 10min. This went on all night! Because I was bale to get up and pee by myself, they let me come home. I appreciate all of the info and well wishes!!
