Question about binders

I am about to purchase my binder. I am not sure of the code for my type of hysterectomy but the doctor said it was necessary to cut me from hip to hip. I have been reading many find the binders helpful and would like to purchase one, but I have a question about sizing. I understand my belly will swell ALOT according to the blog. I looked at the size list and Princess goes up to a 50 inch waist, but Queen starts at a 48 inch waist. I have a 471/2 inch waist now. So if I get the princess the binder will not leave much room for swelling, but if I get the Queen it will only go down to the size I am now, which may get smaller because they are taking a huge HUGE fibroid out.
Anybody with experience that can help me?

Re: Question about binders

Did your doctor mention if you will wake up in a binder? I would say get the princess one because while there is swelling, it didn't seem to be that much for me. You will want to make sure you can wear it longer as the swelling goes down. I would find out if you will wake up with one before purchasing one. That might help you decide better which size to get.

Re: Question about binders

I got mine for free at the hodpital, so it was well fitted. I only used it once for the ride home. I was glad I didn't buy it. I almost did, after reading all the hoopla I thought I needed everything. I decided to wait until after surgery and get what I needed. I ended up needing almost nothing. Now I have a nice lingerie fund!
