Pre-Op Appt. TODAY!

The time is drawing nearer. Pre-op today. I have my questions (most of them gathered from this site!) and I think I am ready. Scheduled for the LSH (cervix and ovaries stay put). Read a lot of horror stories about LSH and "accidents". Wondering if I should just have it done thru my belly instead. I guess I am nervous about the pending surgery and am rambling on and on and on. I really appreciate this site, it's a great comfort.

CJ,
You can't rely on horror stories to guide your thinking. I'm sure there are even some with TAH surgeries. You need to talk to your doctor about your concerns and find the best route for your body and symptoms. I need to have a TAH because of the endo implants all over my organs. I trust my doctor to do this without fear if he's going to goof up. Make sure he answers your questions to your satisfaction. This is your body he's working on. Best wishes with your surgery.

Pre-Op Appt. TODAY!

I second what LiJo said! Before my surgery I read so many horror stories. This site (bless you sisters!) is so much better at presenting a balanced view than some others. There are some sites that make you want to go screaming for the hills!! Everyone's experience is different. I finally just decided to practice positive thinking and ignore the horror stories. I had a TAH/BSO on 9/25 and have had *none* of the awful side effects I had imagined/anticipated. I had a little gas, and that's it. Trust your doctor, and trust yourself. Imagine the best and we'll all hope you get it!
