Waist pain anyone?

I had my TAH/BSO a week ago tomorrow. So far so good, but yesterday and the day before had a "spot" (literally, in size it felt like the bottom of a glass or cup) of almost fiery pain which was not relieved by the painkillers I've been taking. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of pain, maybe a 7, but again only in what felt like a circular spot. I didn't call doctor on call because everything else has been fine: my BP, temp, urination is normal, even having bm's (if small). Today, the spot of pain is totally gone, but have been having some pains around the waist, on both sides now. I figured maybe the cutting into abdominal muscles has inflamed nerves all around but of course not sure. Or maybe the aftereffects of anesthesia? Not terribly worried, but this is weird! Anyone have similar experience?

Waist pain anyone?

At less than a week post-op it's not unusual to have all sorts of different pains. If they worsen, however, or you do start to worry, please don't hesitate to contact your doctor.

Try to rest as much as possible, drink plenty and walk a little. Wishing you a smooth recovery!

Waist pain anyone?

I remember having burning pain during my first week. The nurse said that it was from the muscles that were stretched and moved aside during the surgery. I noticed that if I layed down the pain went away. At that time I had to limit the amount of time that I was up and walking around. If you are concerned though....you can always call the nurse. I wish you the best....

Waist pain anyone?

Thanks everyone! I'm feeling much better today. Today must be yet one more turning point--I'm able to walk with good posture! I couldn't do that before because of all the gassy type pain around my waist.
