stinky belly button

I had an abdominal laparoscopy done august 3 however my belly button is wet and with such a foul smell has anyone else had this

My belly button incision started to get infected at week three. My doctor put me on an antibiotic and it healed right up. I noticed about a week later my stitches started to break loose and my bb smelled stinky. I took a cottonball soaked in alcohol and cleaned it out twice...the odor was gone and all is good. I do think it is an area that can stay moist which will promote an odor so making sure it is dried is important.

Don't use alcohol or peroxide before talking to your doctor because they can actually dry out things and cause problems with healing. That is what my doctor told me when I used it when my bb first got infected.

Thanks I actually laid in bed picked up my belly so that belly button would dry. Well after I dif this the stitches or glue or whatever they used fell off and t he smell is gone not red or anything

Yay!! That was an easy fix...gotta' love the easy ones. Lol
