How long to get pathology report, how long to leave on steristrips?

My strips are still on too. They were put on Aug 13th after my staples were taken out. A couple are curling up some none have come off. I actually have a call in to the nurse to ask. My 4 week post op is next Wed. and wondering if they'll still be on.

How long to get pathology report, how long to leave on steristrips?

I agree that all doctors are different. I went for my 2 week check up yesterday (2 weeks today yeah) and my doctor told me to start easing the strips off. well in the shower this morning I did what he said and started taking them off and they pretty much just came right off. As for nasty bandaid the residue they left behind is just like a bandaid. How gross and I am not going to trying to scub it off I am still realy werid about my incesion.

I totally know what you mean about not scrubbing off the residue. I am so not ready to have any scrubbing near my incision, so last night in the shower I just took a warm wash cloth and laid it over top of it for a little bit and noticed after I got out and was drying off that some of the residue that was above and below my incision wiped off pretty easy.

And just to clarify my earlier statement about "dirty bandaid" I believe what my DR was refering to when he said dirty band aid was the fact that there was dried blood on the back side of the strip where it went across my incision.

Mine are paper because of an allergy. I think maybe it will still be a sticky mess anyway.!!!
It helps to have sisters who go through the same thing you do. I'm a little scared what it looks like so maybe I didn't want to think of it as a band aid. I know now that your doctor is right.

I had mine put on over my stiches on the 12th after my surgery. I know that it may have hurt taking them off without being in the shower, But in the shower it was cake to take them off no pain. Yes they looked way gross and I to think mine were paper. But realy nothing to be scared of. I am a scarry cat of anything painfull or gross and this wasn't so bad.

How long to get pathology report, how long to leave on steristrips?

At my two week post op checkup, my doctor had my pathology report.

My biggest incision had steri strips and the other four incisions were covered with band aids. The steri strips fell off about two weeks after surgery and the doctor told me at the two week checkup to let the air get at the rest of the incisions. The scabs fell off all of the incisions about three weeks after surgery.
