You sound pretty normal to me. I was sooo emotional while I was still waiting for my hyst. I found that staying busy helped me get through the wait.
I hope that your day gets better

Just be gentle with yourself. This is probably the most emotionally-charged surgery a woman can have, and it's no wonder that we go through the gamut of feelings that we do.
I had a couple of months from scheduling my surgery to the actual date, and I had wanted to get my house in tip-top shape before I went to hospital. Did I succeed? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I finally just had to let it be okay that I'd get done what absolutely had to be done . . . like getting ahead on some laundry, getting our bedroom set up at home for my recovery room, getting meds to have on hand at home (over-the-counter as well as scrips), and just taking care of ME. I was weepy, I was cranky, I was "witchy," I was just a normal woman awaiting a hysterectomy.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Weep when you need to weep. Laugh when you need to laugh. Rage when you need to rage (but I'd do it with no one else around, if you know what I mean). You will get through this. For me, the waiting was the worst part. Just take care of yourself over the next few weeks, and this will be past before you know it. Then you can concentrate on healing and becoming WELL.

Hi Mayra,
My surgery is on Tuesday......I'm a big, fat mess!!!! My son is having a surprise b'day party for his girlfriend & I have been making salads & desserts all morning for him to serve at this party. I, for no reason whatsoever, had a meltdown. My younger son, who was in an accident recently & is just beginning to recover kept asking me to take him here & take him there & if this one could come over & if later that one can come over. I totally lost it. I don't want a bunch of teenagers in the house today. It's enough that there will be 15-20, 20-25 year old young adults here tomorrow night. I'm not up for this.....so, don't feel bad. I feel your pain. I want it to get here & get it over with, but I don't because I'm scarrrrreeeddd to death. I guess we are all in the same boat. Too bad those around us don't seem to understand to well.
Good Luck to you & a speedy recovery!

Hi Mayra, I know just how you feel. I think about my surgery every day, and my nerves are a mess most of the time. I do think that waiting is the worst part. My surgery is June 14th and I will probaly be a basket case when the days get closer. We just have to keep telling ourselves that when this is over things will get better each passing day. You are in my thoughts and prayers. This is such a great site, and we are so lucky to have each other to share our stories with for support. Take Care. Cathy
