DaVinci: When did you see dissolving stitches?

I had a daVinci hyst on October 11, and was told my vaginal cuff stitches are the 120 day variety. At my final post-op check last week the dr said the tensile strength is now weakening, but the stitches wouldn't come out until around 4 months. After sex last night, my husband noticed that I was bleeding a bit. I went to the bathroom and noticed pink on the TP and 2 pieces of blue thread.

So I was wondering, when did you start to see your stitches coming out? Thanks!

Re: DaVinci: When did you see dissolving stitches?

I'm almost 7 weeks post op and haven't seen anything. Doc said they may come out or just get absorbed. I've been keeping a keen eye on things but nothing here!!

Re: DaVinci: When did you see dissolving stitches?

I'm sure that a lot depends on the type of thread used - some sisters notice stitches around 3-4 weeks. I had another small piece in the toilet bowl this afternoon. I'm just a bit nervous since my dr said I wouldn't be seeing them for a while. I also have had lower pelvic pain, that I assumed was from the cuff, since week 3. I still take OTC meds if I overdo things. Sex last night was only our 3rd time since being given the OK. No pain, but I'm worried anyway. As with many of us, I'm terrified of a tear!

Re: DaVinci: When did you see dissolving stitches?

I had davinci and I am 4 months post-op and I never saw any stitches come out. I kept waiting and checking, but never saw any. When I went for my 6 week check-up, my dr saw a small piece during the exam and removed it. The rest were already gone so I guess they dissolved.

Almost six weeks post-op and I haven't seen anything. I look all the time too, and nothing doing.

Re: DaVinci: When did you see dissolving stitches?

Thanks, ladies. Intellectually I understand that a little spotting is normal when the stitches start to come out, but I'm very nervous since I was told they wouldn't be coming out so soon. I see my GP on Tuesday for other things; I'll ask him to check the cuff to make sure everything is fine.
