Hysterectomy last night, can't get pain under control

I've had morphine, Toradol and Percocet. Ice pack on vagina and heat pack on abdomen. I'm hoping they won't make me go home. Been on oxygen since last night and low bp. Also, I got a link for my post op recovery progress thread but I can't click it. Help appreciated

Do let the staff know that the pain management is not working for you. No one can foresee whether they'll "make" you go home, but staff usually wants to see your vital signs stable. Some Sisters do stay in the hospital longer than originally planned because of low BP or other issues.

Thank you. My hyst was yesterday morning, not last night. I tried to edit but it didn't eirk. I have mentioned it to them she told me to wait awhile longer for Percocet to kick in by I thought they were supposed to stay ahead if it? I'll try the link, thanks.

Remember to be honest with your pain number rating when you are asked. I tried to be "tough" and not say the real number I was feeling. The first night at the hospital, I was awake the entire night pressing the button every six minutes.

My surgery was 1/25. I stayed in the hospital until the evening of 1/29. My right ovary had grown to 18 pounds. Both ovaries, uterus, and a few lymph nodes were removed. My incision is about 14 inches from my bra line to my underwear line.
The pain has gone away. But I took the strong pain medicines at home for 4 days (every 4 hours).
Have the doctors tried adjusting the dose on a med, instead of switching to a new one? I needed a higher dose, which helped.
