Hysterectomy with fibromyalgia/CFIDS

I was wondering if any of you have had hysterectomies with fibromyalgia/CFIDS and how you did with it? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hysterectomy with fibromyalgia/CFIDS

Hi, lots of us auto-immune girls on the website. I searched through about 50 posts and it seems that most people did fine.

My rheumatologist had no specific problems with me having the surgery except I had to stop some of my Lupus meds before and after the surgery so I could heal better.

It seems we may have trouble with pain and soreness and may move a bit slower. I am worried about laying in bed too long. I plan on getting a massage the day before, taking my own special neck and body pillow and getting back on my regular meds as soon as possible.

Do you have anything you are particularly concerned about?

Hysterectomy concerns

I am mostly concerned about how my body will handle the whole thing. I am dizzy a lot and and feel lousy a lot anyway, so I may not know the difference, LOL.

Hysterectomy with fibromyalgia/CFIDS

Yeah, I told my husband, we are already set up for a sick ward, with a shower chair, reachers, I'm on disability, I'm already used to being sick and in pain and moving slowly. I've already had to adapt to sitting still for long periods of time. While everyone else is struggling with the major change in their lives, we'll just be dealing with the incisions.

I really believe that since I have already made it through what I've made it through, I'll certainly get through this. For heavens sake, this is a procedure with a recovery period and a CURE. Now that I'm NOT used to. I live with chronic pain, certainly I can deal with short-term pain.

fibromyalgia here too

I've had fibro. for years. I had my TAH/BSO 8 weeks ago and just had my 8 week check-up today(oops...technically yesterday) I never had any problems with an increase of my fibro. symptoms at all. My Dr. and I are quite pleased with how well I've done in every respect (ok so the HRT issues are taking some time, but it doesn't worry me).My Dr was so excited that I have healed so well and had a flawless recovery. All is well here and I can now do the happy dance with the Dr's full approval.

Be well sisters and best wishes.

Sounds like most of you did okay or feel like you will be okay. I will just keep thinking positively and try and relax.
