delays!

I'm 51, my ovaries are menopausal, but my uterus is enlarged and bleeding.
Here's my unbelievable story: I was scheduled for TVH on Mar. 3. I went for pre-op assessment and had an abnormal EKG (the Wednesday before the scheduled surgery). The surgery was cancelled. I fought tooth and nail to get a 2nd test, and finally my doctor wrote a new order (but he didn't try to hard), so I had another one done on the Friday before the scheduled surgery. The nurse said it was normal, so I was put back on the surgery schedule for Mar. 3rd. I got a call that afternoon saying the surgery was cancelled again because of a tiny blip on the EKG. This after weeks of building anxiety just because of having surgery, (this is actually the "short" version of my story). I went to my regular doctor for yet another EKG, and it was completely normal, as was a heart-stress test. In the meantime, I fired my OBGYN doc and requested a 2nd opinion within the same group. I never like him from the beginning, but thought "well, what does it matter". Later I heard bad things about him and mistakes he's made. So, After haggling about switching docs t, I finally got to see another doc who agrees with the first one. Due to suspected polyps and constant bleeding, she suggests at the minimal, a D&C. She feels that that's only a temporary fix, however, so we agree on the TVH, but I have to go back in the "surgery queu"...the waiting line. I had been on the Climara patch for years and did quite well with it. Well, now these doctors say I should be on a combined hormone (estrogen/progestin combo) because I still have my uterus. OK, I tried 3 different kinds. All of them were TERRIBLE! My moods became "dark", the bleeding increased, I bloated up like a balloon, even my fingers looked like sausages. So today, I'm takiing myself off the hormones until my surgery, which hasn't even been scheduled yet. Probably mid-April. Now does this sound like a move toward socialized medicine or what???!!! It is inconceivable to me that one has to wait 2 months to get a surgery done. So, here I sit, waiting to get my life back. Thanks for letting me vent.

I am sooo sorry you have to go thru all of this!!! I'm glad you changed doctors, if you were not happy with the first one, we should feel comfortable with our DR.
I pray that you dont have to wait until april, hopefully, will be sooner than that. sometimes, things happen for a purpose, which we dont see or understand, in the meantime, hang in there and take care of yourself, I pray you feel better until the surgery.
blessings,
