Day 20 after hysterectomy
I had my hysterectomy on Oct. 7 2014.
I had minimal spotting for the first day ir two, but suffered a lot of pain from trapped CO2 gas. Incisions healed well and pain was tolerable. I have been having issues with cramping/pain in lower abdomen, much like menstrual cramps. It's strange because I don't have a uterus! Starting on day 14, after close to 2 weeks of no spotting, I began to have pink spotting, that turned into bright red bleeding. It is still ongoing at day 20, and is almost like a light period. Definitely more than spotting. When I called the doctor at the first sight of the pink spotting, they said it was ok as long as I'm not bleeding and soaking a pad in an hour. The bright red bleeding is very unsettling, as to me it means there is a vessel or something that is actively bleeding. This seems to be a bit of a confusion, as I gave read a lot of other posts about this happening. Nowhere in my post- op documents does it state " you may START to bleed around 2 weeks post surgery, and this is why..."
Ugh. Not cool. I am worried something has come loose or the incision hasn't healed enough and the sutures are dissolving. Wish someone would have told me about this part. Almost got rid of my pads. Glad I didn't.
