Anyone else with PCOS?

I am scheduled for a TAH/BSO in ten days (July 11th) and am so nervous. I have a history of PCOS (PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome) including infertility, abnormal bleeding, abnormal weight gain, hyperplasia and more recently, diabetes and high blood pressure. I have some fears about not making it through the surgery as well as the possible after effects if I do. Is there anyone else out there with a similar history that could offer me some encouragement and reassurance? My DH thinks I'm nuts to worry so much.

Anyone else with PCOS?

Hi, I was diagnosed with PCOS almost 20 years ago, I also had endo and split uterus. However, I was on BCPs for years and I did not have severe symptoms. I had my surgery for suspected cancer but it was giant fibroids no cancer. I did very good. But the PCOS is something to keep in mind when dealing with HRT. I have had trouble but am finally on estradiol and prometrium. I hope all goes well for you as it did for me.

Anyone else with PCOS?

Dear Cindy,

PCOS is a real pain-literally! I've had problems since my late 20's..it's gotten to the point where we don't even bother with the ultrasound when one goes! Good luck to you!!! It's gotta feel better than this!

Anyone else with PCOS?

I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago. I've had problems because of the PCOS also, hypertension, abnormal bleeding, painful periods, weight gain, etc. I had a TAH BSO on 6/4/01 and am happy to report that I have had absolutely no problems! Feel free to contact me if you'd like.

Good luck to you!
Kim
