close, but not quite ... 5% of your addiction is the nicotine, the rest is habit ... usually oral (which is why it's easy to gain weight) or manual, so you don't know what to do with your hands without holding a cigarette ... i spent the first few weeks chugging grapefruit juice constantly (probably 2 quarts a day) - citrus is a great de-toxifyier ... then i realized most of my addiction was manual, so i took up cross-stitching, and needlework, and knitting, and anything else i could do to occupy my hands for long periods of time ... the downside is i ended up with carpal tunnel ... oh well, my lungs are clear, i didn't gain too much weight, my kids never saw me as a smoker so they don't smoke either, i gave handmade gifts for years, and the carpal tunnel surgery was a perfect success! and now, 21 years later, i'm healthier than i've ever been! PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP! it's hard, really hard, but SO WELL WORTH IT!! goood luck!!

I am 2 weeks post-op and 2 weeks smoke-free (yea me), I feel better when i wake up in the morning not coughing so much. And my daughter has been telling me for the last 2 weeks that she is PROUD of me. So im going to keep it up for my health and for the fact my daughter wants to see mommy for a very long time.
