Being sent for Clearance from Cardiologist and Pulmonary??

was scheduled for my hysterectomy back in October. When they called the insurance, they said, make sure she has a DNC first. So instead of having my surgery on Oct 23rd, I had my DNC. Went to schedule my surgery for Nov and found out my husband's insurance was not "active" - will have to wait till it kicks back in. I moved and went to a dr that told me yes, you definitely need your surgery, but told me he does not do surgery with repairs that I needed, so he sent me to a Gyn/Oncologist - I just saw her this past Tues, she sat down did the consultation with me. She said TVH with mini-arc for cystocele. I told her when she did my surgery, we would have to tell the anethesiologist that I will have to have a tube put down my throat, as I have had to do with other surgeries. Then she asked if I had been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I said no, but told I should get checked for it, but never did. Anyway, when I was going to have the surgery in Oct, they had me to go to my Cardiologist to get clearance - he did and everything was good to go. This doctor is having me go once more to my Cardiologist next week to get clearance and had me to go today to a Pulmonary Doctor to get clearance. They did 4 breathing tests on me and 2 chest x-rays. I wonder why I have to get clearance from the Pulmonary Dr - didnt do it back in October - just confused - just put the tube down my throat like all my other surgeries! I guess I am just getting confused about it all and nervous! I know she got right on getting this appts, she said as soon as I get clearance, they will call me with my date for my surgery!

Every doctor has their won comfort level and orders pre testing based on that. Good luck.
