personal question: the big "o"

I'm 4 1/2 weeks post-op and I know the doctor told me (three different times LOL) during my three week checkup not to have *sex* but he didnt specify if that means sexual intercourse only (I know thats not okay yet) or if it's okay to 'take matters into my own hands' if ya know what I mean.

I am DEFINITELY too embarrassed to ask him (he's an older male ob/gyn who I have known all my life-he was my mother's doctor).

so, has anyone had the nerve to ask their doctors that question???!!! I need to know-- I dont know if I can hold out until July 22nd!! LOL

personal question: the big "o"

At 4 weeks, it didn't hurt me to do the self test drive at all. I did find out that 5th gear works just fine. Now I'm 8 weeks and giving it one more week before I take on another passenger just to be safe.

I couldn't ask my male Dr about it either but did ask his female nurse. Have you though about asking a female nurse at his office?

personal question: the big "o"

I asked my DR BEFORE surg. if I would be able to take the "do it yourself" route and if so how soon. He said he would give it a couple of weeks to let the pain of surg. die down and if I felt comfortable to try it out. He did say nothing at all IN the vagina but that "outer-course" would be fine. I have yet to try considering I'm not quite 2 wks post op but will let ya know how it goes! If you're not sure, like another sister said you could always ask a female nurse.
Happy Trails!

personal question: the big "o"

I asked my doctor and was told that whatever was comfortable for me,but reiterated[quote] " nothing IN the vagina for 6 weeks, and we'll leave it at that" worked for me! Think I did the first day home and was in the hospital 3 nights......all's good.

4 weeks out and spotting from "o"

I did a self serv and had no pain, no problems except now, the day after, I am lightly spotting pink. Dont know if it is related or not. Maybe I over excerted myself excecising?

personal question: the big "o"

I was allowed and able to take a solo run about 2 weeks in. Definitely took the edge off and was so glad that everything still worked! Wow!

I took a "test drive" at 3 weeks and everything worked just fine. What a relief ... in more ways than one

Thanks For The Laugh

I've been having a rough, feeling sorry for myself, teary eyed day, that string of post but a smile on my face. Thanks for the laugh I sured did need one.

personal question: the big "o"

I used a vibrater after about a week and a half to make sure I could still have an O. Everything worked fine.

personal question: the big "o"

Absolutely! External only. Probably should have waited longer, but I wanted to make sure that I still was able to do it.
