Got an infection boo hoo!

Decided to go to gp after asking advice under the title 'lap hyst recovery question'.

Someone pm'd me (you know who you are!) and told me to make appt with my gp which I did. I have just got back and apparently I have 'a collection' under 2 of my inciscions! So i am now on antibiotics 4 times a day and have to go back for review next week. She also took a urine sample just in case I had a urine infection.

Hopefully it will all clear up with the antibiotics as otherwise they are gonna need to incise the wounds to let the yukky stuff out! Not fun I'm sure!

So thank you for advice and prompting me to see the doctor, I will see her again next week!

Sorry to hear about the infection and hope things heal up soon for you. I missed your original posting and am wondering, since I too am recovering from a LAVH what signaled to you that something was wrong with the incisions?

Yes good luck with everything!!

How did you know you had an infection? I'm 2 weeks post-op and last night I discovered I had a tiny little sore right in the middle of my incision (I had a TAH). It was filled with pus, sort of like a pimple or something you'd get with an ingrown hair. Should I be worried? Should I call the doc?

Hello:
I found out today that (LAVH on 12/19) that I have an infection below my belly button. It was very warm and VERY tender. Now I'm on a course of antibiotics. This has been the worse pain so far since my surgery

Got an infection boo hoo!

Hi:
Well, I got an infection right below my belly button. My understanding is this where the scope entered into my adbomen through my belly button. I suspect if you were going to get an infection it would have happened soon after your surgery.

It's sure sore and quite honestly, if it wasn't for that (and of course feeling exhausted after mundane little activities), I'd feel fine.
