TVH: Insomnia w/ 9 days until hysterectomy = questioning everything

I am having difficulty sleeping so of course my mind wanders to if I am doing the right thing. I have had a second opinion (and found some relief in coming to the same conclusions) and have tried all the least invasive treatment options available. I have adenomyosis and have never had any type of surgery before so I know the nerves are kicking in.

My pre op appointment is today. I have a list of questions. I am wondering if some of my fears will be alleviated after that today but know that with my anxiety that I will think of not much else until after the surgery is over. Any calming techniques or reassuring ideas. . . TIA

I had adenomyosis to, such a horrible disease! My pre op appointment really reassured me. Talking with the anesthesiologyst really calmed me down, I told him I was worried about anxiety and nausea and he told me he would make sure I wouldn't have either and I didn't! I hope you have a great pre op visit and best wishes for surgery!

Your welcome, and welcome to the forum though I am sorry you are going through this! It is a amazing group of strong and supportive women! I just want to tell you I literally woke up from surgery feeling better than I have in years! Yes,then we have to go through recovery but it is so much easier than living with adeno!

It was long. I still have a few questions and will call my gyn today. I was given a script for anti nausea meds since I often get sick from anesthesia. I was also ok'd tp take mt dose of anxiety meds the morning of surgery since I'm not the first of the day.
