Pain and itchies

My hysterectomy was on Oct.16,so just a few hints for the hospital:
Bring a back scratcher! This was a life saver for me!Some people get itchy from anesthetic,I was one of the lucky ones.Soooo itchy, but the backscratcher was a HUGE help.I received this tip here but so happy to have my scratcher that I wanted to post it myself.
Pain management was another issue.Be your own advocate for it.All pain is individual. They gave me reg.Tylonal which was fine until my freezing came out.At that time I should have asked for stronger meds but didn't until the nurse suggested it.It made a huge difference,I could then sleep and rest.If you need it,ask for it!dont wait, press your button and get the nurse to come. And don't let them push you to leave, you will know if you are not ready. They wanted me to leave the day after surgery,I said no and stayed one more night. With the proper pain management on board,I got some sleep.it made a huge difference so I was able to leave the next day,no problems.
Good luck to you all
Don't forget your back scratchers!!
