Re: losing weigh..is this normal??

Wow, me also. I was actually up 10 lbs after surgery and I freaked. After the first week I realized it was all the IV fluids and such. I am now entering week 3 post op and am down 13 lbs. Hopefully it stays off........

Re: losing weigh..is this normal??

I am one week post RALH and I have lost 6 pounds. I am trying to eat less and include fruit and Activia yogurt into my diet each day, so that I can go to the restroom daily. I am most concerned that I cannot exercise like I want to right now. I love to ride my bicycle every day for 5 - 10 miles and I am craving the bike. Hopefully, I can keep my weight down until I return to my normal bicycle routine.

Re: losing weigh..is this normal??

I am one month post-op tomorrow and I'm down 18 lbs! I'm not complaining and am still losing despite my two scoop a day ice cream addiction. I am guessing it was the water weight, large uterus and fibroids?

Re: losing weigh..is this normal??

I am down too, lost 12bs so far despite eating well and being constantly hungry. I am still very immobile due to the TVH plus repairs and then second emergency surgery abdominal incision hip to hip. Taking it really slow but finding it soooo boring, must listen to my body and pamper the princess though ;-)

Re: losing weigh..is this normal??

Also down about 12 lbs here; I mentioned it to my doctor at my 2 wk post-op appt and he just smiled and said that happens a lot but he doesn't tell anyone because he doesn't want to set an expectation that it will happen--just in case it doesn't.

My tastes have changed a bit since the surgery, too. I'm preferring soups and salads now instead of heavier food. Not sure why, but not going to complain, either!
