Weight loss BEFORE surgery!?

Hello Ladies! I am scheduled for a TAH in May of 2009. I need to get some weight off and tone up! Does anyone have any suggestions or helpful hints, or comments? I was also wondering if I really tighten up my abs, will it be beneficial after surgery?

I love Weight Watchers. It's super motivating, healthy and a lifestyle, not a diet. There's online, but I do better with face to face meetings

I lost 30 lbs about two and a half years ago. It wasn't really something I had planned to do, but I changed the way I ate dinner. I had always skipped breakfast too, which I know is not a good idea. When a friend of ours had triple bypass surgery, at the tender age of 42, it was a wakeup call for my DH and myself. I stopped buying alot of canned goods. I started making sure that half of my plate was vegetables. Sometimes more. I stopped eating pastas, potatoes and rice at suppertime only. I wouldn't eat anything after 7pm. Alcohol was right down to a bare minimum. I didn't exercise, but I was busy in my gardens during the summer. Before I knew it, my clothes were baggy! I went from a size 18-20 to a 14-16!! Last summer, I started golfing. I loved it! I golfed 1-2 times a week. I walked the golf course, using a pull cart for my bag. Although I didn't lose any weight, I lost in size, because my clothes became much looser. Not quite enough to drop another size, but definitely looser. I just hope that having a TAH in March won't put any weight back ON me!!
