71/2 weeks post op still having pain

Had my robotic hysterectomy Dec 10, developed a bladder infection which took several weeks to overcome. I keep thinking I am going to start feeling better soon. I have stabbing type pain in my lower abdomen, I really get soar when I ride in the car for over an hour. I have a co-worker that had a hysterectomy and states she is having no pain 8 weeks out. I hate to bother the doctor but I want to get back to normal. Please let me know if any of you are there are still having pain 7-8 weeks out.

Thanks again to all of the kind hearted people on this site you are a blessing

I would give your a ring. Dont feel like you are a bother, that's what they are there for! At the very least you could chat with a nurse about how you are feeling.

But, everyone recovers at different speeds. Not to mention you had an infection on top of everything else your body was going through.

Take it easy and I hope you are pain free soon!

it wouldnt be a bad idea to call your doctor like LookingforaSis suggested, dont worry about bothering them, they are used to our questions and thats what they are there for....
everyone heals at a different pace, remember that there is alot of healing taking place inside. might be that you are doing too much too soon? slow down a bit and see if the pain gets better, if not, I would call your doctor and see what he says...praying you feel better soon sweetie...

Well at 7 weeks, I felt wonderful. Thought all was well, now am having pain again at 11 weeks. I go to the doc on the 13th cuz I feel like my hormones are out of whack. Guess I will ask about the pain then as well. Also having bladder spasms (mild) again...but it is annoying!

I am almost three months out, and I get pain in when I am riding in the car or sitting too long. Don't know why either. I feel the best standing or laying down. The incisions seem to pull and cause the pain. I also feel swelling which pushes on my bladder. I have been having bladder urgency since the surgery. I seeing a PT for the bladder. I am going to ask her about the sitting and pain.
