Estogen Dominance-supracervical hyster

I'm diciding on supacervical hyster, I have one ovary and am estrogen dominant. I would like to know if there are any ladies out there that are like me in the sense of being estrogen dominant, have one ovary and have had supracervical hyster and kept one ovary. Did you have any problems with shut down of the ovary? or personality changes? Sexual disfunction? weight gain? Did you have to get on hrt immediately? any problems at all? I'm asking because everyone is different and I would like to know what the outcomes have been.

Thank you, for your advise on this matter.

Hello!

While I am unable to give you any info on the estrogen dominance, I can tell you about the LSH/BSO.

I had my LSH on 11-14, I did leave the cervix, but had both tubes and ovaries, as well as the uterus removed. This is a wonderful procedure! They recovery is not as long as a TAH or TAVAH, but is still a major surgery. My procedure was on a Friday and on Monday I was out and about, I do attribute my recovery to my doctor, he suggested a shot of long acting morphine in my spine pre-op which gave me complete pain control post op. This was wonderful. Also, his order was to be up and walking asap post-op, and as much as possible, while this varies from physician to physician, I do agree, for if I was not up and about I felt stiff and icky. I was also back at work 10 days post-op, which was approved by my physician, but this also varies.

If there is any way that you can have a LSH it is much easier! Good luck with your journey!

Annie
