Resuming intimate relations.

I have had great difficulty finding out any info regarding sex other than the advise not to have penetration prior to out patient check-up. I have seen quite a few posts on this subject here over the last few days and thought I would share with you some info I found in a booklet at my local library today. It was a reference only so this is from memory:

Penetration with anything not advised till check up due to healing stitches and risk of infection.

Clitoral stimulation should be fine if you feel up to it. It said orgasms are good for you as they increase circulation which aids healing and help to keep vaginal muscles toned.

It said vibrators were a good choice as you could avoid touching a tender abdominal incision, so long as you didn't put it inside!!!

Obviously this isn't individual medical advice but it made sense and reassured me.

I need to add a word of caution here. Many books at libraries can be older and out dated as to what is or isn't approved now. Each patient should follow her own doctor's instructions for their own personalized care. You need to follow the instructions given to you by your doctor for you. We are each different and have each had our own surgeries. A booklet in the library isn't a substitute for your doctor's restrictions.

Please always follow your doctor's instructions completely.
