Pre-op info by mail??!!

So when I received the call about my date (which is next Tuesday and I'm a nervous wreck) the nurse informed me that my surgery is at 1 and to arrive by 11 but that all the information would be mailed to me. As anybody else experienced this because I'm feeling a little uneasy with this

Re: Pre-op info by mail??!!

I got a similar call and letter. When the letter came, it contained dates for my pre-op appointments, both with surgeon and hospital. And it also had dates for post-op appointments at 2 weeks and 4 weeks.

Re: Pre-op info by mail??!!

The info you get in the mail will likely include instructions on what you can and can't eat or drink prior to the surgery and which meds to stop taking, stuff like that. I was happy to have it all in writing, so many things to remember at the last minute. Good luck!

Re: Pre-op info by mail??!!

I'm in New Zealand and I had my anaesthetic pre-op assessment several weeks ago...before I even had a date for surgery. I am exactly 2 weeks away from my surgery date and I have to admit I am actually excited. Is that weird or what?

All I have to do is blood test 10-7 days before my surgery date and then show up at 7.30AM the morning of the surgery, although that might not be my actual surgery time...I have been warned I might have to wait awhile!!!

Re: Pre-op info by mail??!!

Mine came by email. It contained all my pre-op info. I was called a few days prior by the surgeon's office with a tentative time. The hospital called the day before and gave me the actual time. My surgeon's office was great and was happy to answer any questions that I had if I called.Good luck!

Re: Pre-op info by mail??!!

My information was mailed as well. With all that was going on, it was nice to have it in writing so I could refer back to it.
