5 weeks post hysterectomy: How long for complete recovery

Still feel the stiches and uncomfortable frm prolonged sitting after 5 weeks from the operation. Wonder when i can enjoy long walks at at shopping mall.

How much walking are you doing now? You get to long walks by starting with short walks and gradually building up.

I'm guessing you're still under your doctor's care (ie. he hasn't released you yet). The hardest thing for most of us to wrap our brains around is that healing continues for several months after we're released.

I agree with Surprised that long walks are built up from short walks. At 3 months I was doing much of what I was before, just slower and not as intense. My body would still react negatively at 5 months if I pushed too hard.

This surgery and recovery really does test patience!
