Cold 2 weeks before- Do they cancel?

I finally came down with the cold that has been threatening for the past week. I thought it was just allergies, but now I am really sure it is not. I am supposed to get my pre op done next week. Should I? Or do they prefer that you reschedule until you are better?

Cold 2 weeks before- Do they cancel?

Hi. I had a TAH on Nov. 25th. I was told that there is a problem if you have a temperature of 101 degrees or more on the day of surgery.

So, play it by ear. In the meantime, take real good care of yourself, drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest. I don't think that having a cold at your pre-op appointment is as concerning as having a cold with a temperature on the day of your surgery.

I would still go to your appointment and maybe you could ask then what their policies are with regards to colds/flu etc.

Good luck!

Hugs,
Sarah

Cold 2 weeks before- Do they cancel?

Not normally no. I was told if I had a temp, bunged up nostrels that would impare breathing or chest infection (my colds tend to do this to me) then I would be cancelled.

I thought I was coming down with a cold, but it was stress related and would come and go depending on my 'worry factor'

Do contact your Dr, so that if they feel there is something you can take to help you over this as quickly as poss, they can get it written up for you.

Normal rules for a cold are: 3 days coming, 3 days having, 3 days going.
