New To Site, Time to say goodbye aliens you win.

Just found out today that I will have my uterus, and remaining ovary removed next Tues. 3/13. What a road of emotions and pain this has been. 1st lap for endo in 2004, 2nd in Dec 2006 and found severe endo, large left complex ovarian cyst, large fibriod in uterus, and adhesions upon adhesions. Needless to this was too much for lap so full abd. surgery in March 2006 to fix all that. I then tried clomid for infertility (Currently 36 no children) this overstimulated my right ovary it torted and ruptured emergency surgery in April 2006. grrrrr. Oh for fun a few more little aliens that flew away on their own. Three weeks ago another alien moved in a would tap at the door to say hi I am here, US the next week and found 7cm sepated comlpex alien. I opted the wait and watch game. Last week began with the excrutating pain back to the GYN and US shows 2.5 single chambered cyst.. HUH???? GYN thought that maybe the larger chamber had ruptured. But would be OK....2 days later landed myself in the ED for severe pelvic pain, ovary pain, back pain and mid abd. pain. Another US (really, my hubby should be jealous of that thing )only to reveal that the alien is now 5cm. Admitted for pain control and surgery. Next, morning I was released without surgery but with a script for Dilaudid. Pain has not let up yet and now have pain just as bad all around my belly button up to my chest and sooo bloated (now what is this?) Appointment today, Doctor states that the cyst appears to be endo and that it can not be saved. No explaination of the pain up high. I just can not go on with this pain, He decided that the ovary and uterus will taken but wants to leave the cervix. Can you tell me the pros and cons of this decision? The decision to have this surgery was not hard, one can only live in pain for so long. But the emotion of having this is soooooooo hard. Really wanted to carry a child. I know there are other ways to be a mom. I know this sounds crazy just wish the surgery was over, the longer my parts are there the more my brain says hold on to them, while the pain receptors are saying dang a week is a long ways away. Anyways, off to menopause I go. Thanks for listening. Any one eles a pre-op wreck?

Thanks
Terri

Not to far away from you! Greenville, SC! yes i am a wreck too. I was suppose to go in Feb 12th but because i am only 33 my insurance cancled and made me have a Diagnostic Lap that day with a D7C and Hysterscopy instead. Now they aproved me with those results for April 9th. I had complications after my last surgery and has really been stressfull thinking about this major surgery and what might happen this time around. I just want my life back!

I would opt to have the cervix removed also. As long as the rest is going might as well get rid of what could possibly get cancer. I have had cervical cancer, its nothing to brag about, lots of pain and had to have surgery. Get rid of it all, you will feel like a new women, and you will have that much less to worry about. Hope all goes well for you.

Terri, I had an endo cyst 9.3cm and pain above my belly button I could hardly eat or drink anything. I was always getting sick to my stomach after eating or drinking. Here the endo had almost completely blocked my small intestine and it had to be resected. We had no clue it was endo causing all of my problems. Plus I had an enlarged uterus with fibroids. What a mess I was in. Had all of that removed and experience some belly pain. I don't know what endo pain is because I had so much other pain you couldn't pin point it. I was most worried about cancer and the waiting game is a killer. I hope that you feel better soon.

Thanks so much for the replies.. Not so sure about keeping my cervix...afraid it will be just one more thing to go wrong later...I need to think more about that. Am afraid of the menopause thing HRT or not? So many questions...
Thanks
Terri
